Where are you getting these builds from? Whoever is providing these builds are on crack! There are talents chosen in the build below that I would not have taken & ones that I would take.

resto post patch! 40RestoShamanBuild

For example, I would not take Ancestral Resolve unless I needed to. I would take Tidal Focus, just because Shamans use a crap load of haste & go through it so fast, that a 6% reduced mana cost for healing spells would be greatly needed. until I try it out, Focused Insight is going to be crap & will only take it if I have to. I would rather take Totemic Focus. Unless there is going to be a lot of cleansing involved in Cata, I won't be taking Cleansing Waters.

So, yeah, a lot will change with this build before Cata comes out.

but then again i havent ran a resto shammy in about a year or so /shrug just what i would chose its not necessarily right but its the way i would go some of these talents seem a bit odd farther down the teirs so it may just be them shaking things up a bit i mean it looks as if your supposed to spam lightning bolt when your low on mana wtf?

Yeah I don't like that idea, because in order for you to be successful with that whole theory, you have to have +hit. I mean seriously? How many resto shamans do you know with any +hit? I for one have zero on any of my resto gear. It almost seems like they are placing this all on a "chance to hit". I would not risk it.

i dont remember how far down the tree it is but...ele gets 100% spirit - hit rating

it may be the way they want resto shammies to be in cata may be skipping the enhance talents to drop that far into ele??

it seems like a bad idea honestly but /shrug who knows what content is gonna look like its supposedly much much tougher

and i cant wait for that not to mention we can do away with 25mans and concentrate on 10 man groups since it all drops the same gear...

Alright, 2 days later after the 4.0.1 patch release, I have only healed 1 instance & did ok. Given the addon situation, I think I did rather well. I have been reading a resto shaman blog site called Life In Group 5. This has been a very informative site. I have listed what my build & glyphs are going to be below:

resto post patch! 40RestoShamanBuild-MINE

I'll have to jump into some 10/25m VOA & see what the outcome is, but I think resto shaman's have a very minimal impact. Our only really big change was the loss of Mp5 (please, a small moment of silence...<crickets churping>...thank you) & now having to worry about spirit, which up until now, was the most worthless stat ever!

As I learn more & tweak what I learn to my play style, I will post it here for all to see. Not that we have any other main spec resto shamans in the guild that could benefit from my information, but who knows, maybe one day I will have a younger brother [or sister] to try to keep up with me & exchange information that we have learned along the way <sigh>. Oh well.

Any questions or comments, please, feel free to post. I'm always up for answering questions about resto shamans or taking other ideas into consideration.
